The Hasivo S600W-4GT-1SX-1XGT-SE switch is one that we wanted to cover. The switch has a unique property that may make it more useful for its dual 10GbE interfaces than for the 2.5GbE ports onboard. The reason is simple: this has both SFP+ and 10Gbase-T.

Where to buy: Here is the unit on AliExpress Affiliate Link. There is also a PoE version there.

Hasivo S600W-4GT-1SX-1XGT-SE Overview

We have another big round-up coming, but we did a video of this, as well as the PoE version of this switch a few weeks ago. Here is that video:

It has also been listed in the Ultimate Cheap Fanless 2.5GbE Switch Buyer’s Guide where we have now listed 38 models and will soon have over 50. Bookmark that page to get the latest, we will like all of these reviews from that page.

If you read our previous review of the PoE model the Hasivo S600WP-4GT-1SX-1XGT-SE, then a lot of this is going to be familiar except this is a version without PoE.

In our review, we are going to show what this managed “cheap” switch is like.

Hasivo S600W-4GT-1SX-1XGT-SE Hardware Overview

On the front of the switch, one can see four 2.5GbE ports, aa SFP+ port, and a 10Gbase-T port. That is only part of the switch.

Unlike the PoE version, there are no PoE status lights below the ports. Instead, that is where the port numbers are.

Not only do we get a SFP+ port, but we also get a 10Gbase-T port for 10GbE. Given the price of this switch is much lower (currently in the $80-90 range) this brings up a really interesting use case. Many purchase SFP+ to 10Gbase-T media converters for $50-70. It is not much more to get a full switch with four extra ports to do this conversion.

Just like the PoE version, the “DUMB” and “WEB” switch changes the switch from unmanaged to a web-managed one. We know many of our readers prefer each of these options. Here, you can choose and change your mind later. One small feature is that there is a reset switch on the far right, which is not commonly seen on these switches because there are so many unmanaged versions out there.

On the side of the switch, we get a vent and a QC sticker. The other side is just a vent.

On the other side, we get another vent.

The rear has a DC power input and a grounding point. That is a very common design element among the 30+ switches we have reviewed thus far.

Inside the switch, we see a common design. Compared to the PoE version, we do not have the secondary PoE board, and some of the power components near the power input are not populated on this board.

You can see we pulled off the blue heatsink covering the Realtek RTL8372 that powers most of the 4-port 2.5GbE and 2-port 10GbE switches that we see.

Here, we can see the Realtek RTL8261BE that is above the 10Gbase-T port. This chip is used in some of the SFP+ to 10Gbase-T converters on the market which is interesting just given the size. Here it provides the 10Gbase-T interface we need.

Next, let us get to management, performance and power consumption.

  1. This is coming close.
For me and many other SOHO users, we need an 8x 2.5 + 4x 10Gb wired. Ideally also with 8x 1Gb ports for the many slower items people have, and so the old 8x 1Gb switch can be replaced, and no clutter with fiber.
The QSW-M2108R-2C is also interesting, but still 550€ here in EU compared to Mikrotik CRS310-8G+2S+IN which cost 220€ + 2 wired SPF+ interfaces at 130€, so 350€.
