Dell Precision T7920 Workstation BIOS
The UEFI BIOS for the Precision T7920 is simple and straight to the point, its not difficult to tab to different BIOS sections and adjust needed options.
At the main screen, we find typical BIOS functions found on these screens, with adjustable options on the right side.
Dell Precision T7920 Remote Management
One item that we were somewhat expecting with this platform is Dell iDRAC for remote management. We were told that he T7920 currently does not have this option, but can use Intel AMT for remote management. If you use AMT with your company’s other IT assets such as vPro enabled notebooks, then your existing tooling will work with the optional AMT.
Dell Precision T7920 Workstation Software
Dell does not pre-load the system with a large amount of unneeded software, only two applications are found with the first being Dell Precision Optimizer.
Dell Precision Optimizer allows a user to adjust optimized profiles for different applications with a simple click. This is part of Dell’s value add in the market.
Additionally, users can analyze how the system is performing and monitor the system to spot possible issues with the System Diagnostics function.
Users can also stay on top of needed system updates with the tab at the top right.
The second app is Dell SupportAssist. This is a full-featured application that can scan the entire system for driver updates, hardware scans, and tune performance.
Many Dell users are familiar with SupportAssist. Overall, we were excited to see just how standard the install was.
Next, let us look at our system specifications and continue on with testing.
