Compared to the P3 Tiny Gen 2 we looked at a couple of months back, the P3 Ultra SFF Gen 2 is designed to be bigger and better, and it certainly lives up to that standard. While both systems are based on desktop hardware, the larger P3 Ultra SFF makes exactly the kind of trade-offs you would expect in a larger mini-PC, putting the extra volume to good use for not only better cooling, but also for room for multiple PCIe cards. The end product is a system that pretty much begs for at least a dual-slot video card to be installed to make the most of its abilities – but then that is half the point: to have enough space to install such a card.
Ultimately, this makes for a convenient continuum of products within the P3 lineup. For the smallest systems, there is the P3 Tiny Gen 2, while the P3 Ultra SFF Gen 2 slots in nicely as a more spacious option for users who are still after a mini-PC, but need a bit more expandability and GPU performance than what an even smaller system could provide.

It is a bit disappointing to see no Thunderbolt/USB 4/5 ports by default, as they seem to be rather standard on most chinese vendors’ mini PCs in this price range, and Lenovo is still trying to charge extra for a single port at the back.

Did Lenovo pay you not to compare performance with the GB10?
Shipped mine back .. loved size n got it when mem was cheap end of 2025. 4-5 tech visits for event log issues lots of guessing with three mb changes the last allowed all memory to be seen but couldnt stop pcie errors thousands in system event logs then they couldnt get a replacement nic for months and no refund on the optional nic the provided at $400 so shipped back only option for full refund 😭 Built my own .. might have kept it if i was smarter and had spent extra 400 for the two 64gb modules instead of 10gb nic. 128gb for 2800 looks like such a deal now
