Tyan, like Supermicro, recently announced products supporting the new Intel Xeon E5-2600 V2 and E5-1600 V2 Ivy Bridge-EP and Ivy Bridge-E processors. Tyan it utilizing a BIOS upgrade to allow its existing LGA2011 platforms to support the new processors. This is a common approach for those companies that already have an existing portfolio of products. Tyan also is launching two new products, the FT77B-B7059 and GA80-B7061 which targeting GPGPU and VDI applications. The Tyan FT77B-B7059 and GA80-B7061 support multiple GPU/ coprocessor modules (such as the Xeon Phi.) Certainly expected announcements, but it also provides existing customers with an upgrade path.
