At SC25, Google Cloud is showcasing its Ironwood TPU v7 chip. A few months ago, at Hot Chips 2025, Google went into detail about its new Ironwood TPU v7. When Ryan covered that piece in August, it was popular among the STH crowd, so we thought folks might want to see more. While we had stock images of the chip and the board back then, we also found the chip at Supercomputing 2025.
This is the Google TPU v7 Ironwood Chip
Just for a bit of context, here is the Google Ironwood TPU board with four of the accelerators shown.

Here are the key specs from the chip.

At SC25, we found a package just sitting out on the show floor.

You can see the compute tiles and the eight HBM3e sites.

Something we have not seen before is the back side of the TPU.

It was sitting in a stand inside a case, but we captured a few shots of the backside of the chip as well, so you can see the connection pads and backside components.

Here is the package profile.

We did not get to take the TPU v7 out of the case, but we still wanted to capture the package.
Final Words
Google has been on a path to develop and deploy its own AI hardware for many generations, and recently has seen significant benefits. Given the recent release of Google Gemini 3, we thought folks might like to see some of Google’s AI hardware. This was just an opportunity to grab a few shots of some new hardware, so we decided to share it with you.

Thanks: Cliff, Ryan, and Patrick.
Thanks Cliff for the update but when will we as general home consumers get to buy these as a PCI card for locally host able solutions?
