The monitor has two full-feature Type-C Ports. These give you a few options. Firstly, you could use them as a power-only, which is great when using an HDMI output. Secondly, you could use them as a display-only connection. You would also be able to use them with adapter cables to go to a DisplayPort monitor.

It comes with a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. If you have a compatible Type-C port, this can both power and provide the display connectivity for the monitor.

The Arzopa Z1FC 16.1in 144Hz Portable Monitor also has a Mini HDMI port. This can be used for display-only connections, so you will need to power it in another way. Also, it is important to note that this is not a full-sized HDMI port. Which means, if you have an average HDMI-to-HDMI or DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable around, it will not work here as-is.

Fortunately, it comes with a Mini HDMI to HDMI cable so you can plug it directly into an HDMI out port. You will still need power, so in that case, you can use one of the Type-C ports as a power-only port.

On the top of the same side, the monitor has a power/back button, a track wheel where you can control monitor brightness, and a button that takes you to the OSD menu.

It is important to note that this kick-stand option makes it great for flexibility for viewing at various angles. This option does not provide the portable monitor with a built-in case, which is important when traveling. Next, let us see how the $109 monitor performs.

Arzopa Z1FC 16.1in 144Hz Portable Monitor Color Performance

We decided to use our Datacolor SpyderPro to see what kind of color performance we get with these monitors. This is not the fanciest test equipment by any means, but we just wanted to get some general sense of performance.

For a $109 monitor, these results are pretty good.

As a quick comparison point, here is what we saw from the Dell Pro 14 Plus Portable monitor:

Here is Dell’s color accuracy:

As another comparison point, here is what we saw from the $49.99 MNN M156F01 Portable monitor:

The difference between the Dell Pro 14 Plus Monitor and the Arzopa Z1FC is relatively slim. In Color Gamut the Dell Pro 14 Plus Monitor (100% of sRGB) has a slight edge over the Arzopa Z1FC (98% sRGB). For color accuracy, the Arzopa Z1FC (2.12 Average) tested better than the Dell Pro 14 Plus Monitor (2.35 Average). The Arzopa Z1FC results are overall superior to the MNN M156F01 we recently tested.

Power Consumption

Here are some of the readings we took on the power consumption side:

  • 0% Brightness 3.5W
  • 25% brightness 4.6W
  • 50% brightness 5.8W
  • 75% brightness 7.3W
  • 100% brightness 9.0W

In case you were wondering about what we saw for the brightness and contrast:

This is not the lowest power panel, but it is also not a 100W+ monitor.

Final Words

There are a ton of portable monitors available today. The Arzopa Z1FC 16.1in 144Hz Portable Monitor is certainly a great value at its current price. Currently selling for under $110 (when publishing this article), this offers a great value to many people. The color gamut and color accuracy results are in line with the Dell Pro 14 Plus Monitor, which is over twice the cost. The Dell is smaller, which many may prefer for travel, it has slightly more pixels (1920×1200 v. 1920×1080 pixels), and it feels a bit nicer. Still, for many, the Arzopa is going to be a better value.

Arzopa Z1FC 16.1in 144Hz Portable Monitor With Box 1

We recently tested the MNN M156F01, which costs under $50. The Arzopa Z1FC tested well above the MNN M126F01 in color gamut and color accuracy. The Arzopa Z1FC also boasts a 144Hz vs 60Hz for the MNN M156F01. If you are simply looking for a second display, it is hard to beat spending under $50 on the MNN. If you are looking for a portable monitor with much better color, a higher refresh rate, and slightly more screen area, the Arzopa Z1FC is worth spending $59 more for.

Overall, the Arzopa Z1FC 16.1in 144Hz Portable Monitor makes it a great option as an additional screen or as a small primary display. On a percentage basis, $50 to $109 is a big leap. On the other hand, for $59, getting a bigger and better panel will be worth it for many people.
