Tenda SE105 Management
This is an unmanaged switch, so we do not get a management interface.
Tenda SE105 Performance
These units were purchased and tested just as we were getting our new test suite online, but we were using the older iperf3 test suite that aligns with dozens of cheap fanless switch reviews we have done previously.

The performance aligned with theĀ BrosTrend S2 so it is exactly what we would expect.
Tenda SE105 Power Consumption and Noise
The switch itself was silent as we would expect with a fanless switch. On the power side, we get a 12V 1A power adapter.

The switch used 1W at idle.

The switch used 1.3-1.6W with a 2.5GbE link connected.

We are not sure why we got slightly higher power consumption on this versus the BrosTrend. It might just be a power supply variance. The switch, however, is also silent since there are no internal fans.
Final Words
Overall, this is not the fanciest switch. The BrosTrend S2 is effectively the same, with the notable differences being the “2.5 Gbps” printed on the front of the BrosTrend S2 and slight power consumption differences.

Still, the new MaxLinear chips seem to offer low power consumption in this form factor. If this ever costs less than the BrosTrend, then we might be inclined to get this Tenda unit instead.
