It turns out that we ordered several NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090s at around the same time for STH. It has been difficult just purchasing the units so we tried a number of different avenues. As a result, we have our third, and likely final NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 review, this time a Zotac partner card. Specifically, we have the Zotac GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity 24GB card. We wanted to see how this compares to the higher-end ASUS Strix offering and the NVIDIA FE card.

ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity 24GB Overview

Let us get started with the box. Supply is still a major challenge with these cards so the retail box is worth studying solely in the event you are at a retail location and want to quickly identify a RTX 3090 before someone else does. Realistically, Zotac could sell this card in today’s market in a brown box that just says “Zotac NVIDIA GeForce 3090 24GB” and lists about nothing else. Here we see the retail box front and back.

Looking at the front of the ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity, we can see the Tri-Fan setup, which covers the entire card. These large cooling fans are designed to keep the RTX 3090 cool during operation since it is a hot card.

Flipping the ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity over, we can see the backplate made from metal and a large section that includes vents that will aid in cooling the RTX 3090.

The top edge has vents and allows fresh air access to the GeForce RTX 3090 heat sink.

At the top/ middle of the ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity, we find 2x 8-Pin power connectors. At this time, only the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3090 OC uses 3x 8-Pin power connectors. The power connectors are placed near the middle of the card, which might cause problems with cabling in some cases. The power connectors are near the end of the card, but the cooler extends well beyond the GPU PCB which puts the power connectors at the middle of the card rather than to the end which is the preferred location.

The ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity video outputs include 3x DisplayPorts and a single HDMI port. Again, there is not a USB Type-C port in the newer generation like we saw with the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.

ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity is a 2.5-slot GPU with a length of 12.5″. It is noteworthy to add that the ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity is not as wide as our past two RTX 3090 reviews, which were ~3-slot designs. That extra space might aid in cooling with better airflow if other PCIe expansion cards are placed next to the ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity.

Next, let us look at the key specifications and continue our performance testing.

  1. Really bugs me that these things are getting wider, wider, and wider. As if taking up two slots wasn’t bad enough–now it won’t even fit into two? I mean seriously, who’s got THREE slots to spare in a case these days? And “2.5” isn’t any better than “3” as it’s still going to block two otherwise usable slots.

  2. Estás placas vêem com defeito de fábrica. Não duram um ano. São poços resistente, a umidade e não o desempenho tão bom assim.
