Isilon is Seeking Bidders

According to Bloomberg, Isilon Systems is reportedly looking for bidders, no doubt in response to the recent string of acquisitions by HP and IBM in the area. After losing the bidding war to HP for 3Par, Dell is undoubtedly a potential acquirer as is Oracle, EMC, Cisco, and NetApp. The NAS/ SAN storage space seems to still be on fire and it will be interesting to see if any of the $500m to $2b storage companies survive the current wave of acquisitions. HP and IBM have been on a purchasing streak lately leaving five big tech players as potential acquirers.

Last Friday (1 October 2010), Compellent was the subject of numerous takeover rumors as it has been for the last month and a half.
