Hi my name is Patrick, and I work in a big firm’s high-tech consulting practice by day, and a server enthusiast by night. During my day job, I work with many companies including Tier 1 NAS and SAN vendors, disk manufacturers and cloud providers. This site was originally started as a tool to document my personal after-hours continuous learning endeavors. Over time it turned into a resource that many thousands of people visit daily.
I have been using home servers for years from old Windows NT boxes all the way to the virtualized servers that I use today. This site is dedicated to helping other professionals and enthusiasts take their first leaps into home servers and small business servers and build out infrastructures that support the SMB/ SME sector. Through the site’s evolution, ServeTheHome has dropped its “home” monkier and is now referred to simply as “STH”.
Today, STH also features content from a great community that uses STH as a focal point. Feel free to take a look around and join the community.
